ABOUT US
We are Polina and Arina, twin sisters and the artists behind Polar Lab, based in Prague. The name Polar combines our names and reflects the collaborative nature of our work — every painting is created together as a shared process.
Drawing side by side since childhood, we gradually developed a common visual language that later evolved through our work as tattoo artists specializing in microrealism. For more than five years this practice shaped our sensitivity to detail, light and composition, and continues to influence the way we approach painting today.
Our work explores textured abstract surfaces inspired by nature and the quiet balance of space. Using layered materials and sculptural mediums, we create tactile paintings that interact with light and reveal subtle depth from different perspectives.
We are drawn to restrained compositions and muted color palettes that evoke calm and stillness. Through minimal forms and textured surfaces, our paintings invite the viewer to slow down, turn inward and discover new emotional states within themselves.
Working from our studio in Prague, we focus on creating pieces that bring a sense of quiet presence into a space. Each painting is created by hand and designed to harmonize naturally with contemporary interiors.
